“Melissa is one of those rare people who can truly connect with children on their level. My two year old worked with Melissa for nearly a year and developed her blooming love for music over that time period. I know Melissa is passionate about her work, and the progress children make with her. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Melissa to anyone with children. Easily worth spending the money.”

“I cannot say enough at how amazing and wonderful Musical Bridges is!! My 18 month old has a diagnosis of Down syndrome. When we were approved for the Katie Beckett medical waiver, I discovered that music therapy is covered. I contacted Melissa and she was so kind and prompt in getting us started. My daughter had music therapy with Erin for a summer and then transitioned to working with Millie. I am seeing a trend here — people who go into music therapy are tender hearted, encouraging, and uplifting! In 18 months of doctor visits, therapy visits, and seeing specialists — music therapy has been the most valuable and helpful use of our time. My daughter loves her music time ….and I feel that they love and embrace her for exactly who she is as well! Her music therapists have collaborated with her OT/PT and myself (I am a pediatric speech therapist!) to include all developmental areas in their sessions. We are working on gross motor skills, expressive language, signing, following directions, using two hands together and so much more!! While having fun and enjoying the soothing qualities that only music can provide. I am so grateful to Musical Bridges and I hope my daughter can enjoy many years learning from and engaging with them!

“Ms. Melissa is wonderful and Skyler looks forward to attending class every week. We can’t help but believe that a lot of Skyler’s social, behavior, developmental, motor skills, concentration, patience (turn taking, etc), politeness, and fondness of music and dance is greatly attributed to Ms. Melissa and music therapy. We notice on numerous instances when Skyler is mimicking what he has learned in music therapy. I think we could all benefit from a little music therapy.”

— Seana, parent of a music therapy client

“My daughter’s involvement in Music Therapy served to further enhance her interest in singing and playing instruments. I believe it’s also helped her develop interpersonal skills through sharing & taking turns. Aside from the obvious social interaction that music therapy provides, I personally feel that music therapy helped lay a foundation for math and language development as well.”

“Both of our children have been involved with Musical Bridges for the past three years. They have been studying mainly piano and guitar, learning how to play those instruments, while also learning how to read music and understand music theory. Isabella has Down syndrome and her sister Meronica who is five years younger is typical and supportive. Both have thrived under the meticulous instruction of Melissa and Erin. The musical knowledge they have garnered over the years with Musical Bridges has helped both kids in school, and in their social lives. Kudos to Musical Bridges for all they do, especially being able to continue non-stop through the pandemic. MUSICAL BRIDGES ROCKS!!”

“Elise is diagnosed with cerebral palsy and is wheelchair dependent. She requires help with all aspects of her care and life. Elise has always loved music and has received Music Therapy since she was 3 years old. She can move in space independently, vocalize sounds/words, follow 1 and 2 step commands, and learn/identify new vocabulary words every month with the use of music. Music Therapy is truly something she can participate in that brings her much joy but also improves her skills in daily life. Since all her sisters had other extracurricular activities, we considered music to be that for Elise. It is so amazing to watch your child enjoying herself and doing more with the help of music!

“My daughter has been receiving music therapy for over two years now. I am a speech-language pathologist and this intervention has not only been so enjoyable and fun for her— but it has had a tremendous impact on ALL areas of development! I highly recommend music therapy, Melissa, and all the wonderful therapists at Musical Bridges!”

“I loved Ms Melissa’s program. Both of my children came home singing new songs and were excited about the opportunity to learn more about musical instruments. I was AMAZED by Melissa’s diligent follow-up with detailed progress reports that let me know how my kids were doing.”

— Kelly, parent from music enrichment classes

“Thank you so much Melissa. Our family really enjoys your progress reports. I am so glad we found your program. Maliha looks forward to music all week long, and on Thursdays when we pick her up, she talks and sings non-stop for most of the weekend. I have no doubt that your class has helped Maliha progress with her communication skills; and for that, I am so grateful. Thank you again for bringing a little extra joy into my daughter’s life every week.”

— Miranda, parent from music enrichment classes

“My child thoroughly enjoyed her “music day” at daycare. She was very excited to dance and play instruments. She brought a few homemade instruments home and still has so much fun using them. My husband and I loved the convenience of having Musical Bridges at daycare. We would highly recommend!”

“Lawson was not one to sing and asked us to stop singing if we started and did not want to go to school for a while. Musical Bridges totally changed his mind on it all! He starts songs for us now and is so excited to go and come back and tell us all about his music class day! It has been a joy to watch him and he now knows about instruments and loves to play the drums! We are so thankful for the music class opportunity at his school and thankful for the wonderful teachers helping him. I was blown away with the thought put into it and getting the lesson plans every week so I know what he did! Couldn’t recommend them more!

— Michelle, parent from music enrichment classes

“Ellie is LOVING music class!!! She comes home and sings all of the songs that you have sung, and she’s been so proud of the instruments you all have made. In fact, that’s the only way I got her out the door this morning was by reminding her that she had to go to school today, because it was music day. Thank you So Much!!!”

— Andrea, parent from music enrichment classes

“Miss Melissa taught my 5 year old piano for a year. She was very patient with her, and she found innovative ways to make the lessons fun and easier to understand for my daughter. She kept my busy daughter on task. She was very warm and compassionate towards my daughter. Mrs. Melissa exceeded our expectations and we highly recommend her..”

“My son Ishan has been learning piano from Musical Bridges for over 5 years now. I found them on one of the Autism resources website and feel lucky to have come across Melissa. “Glory has been part of Musical Bridges at ALC at loves the class and Ms. Melissa. She can’t wait to go to “school” on Mondays for music class. She sings at home and shares about new instruments and games. We’ve noticed that she pauses to listen to music and the words to songs. I highly recommend the program!
